Opening of the temporary exhibition „Solidarity”
On January 28 at 5:00 PM, Muzeon, in partnership with PATRIR, will host the opening of the temporary exhibition “Solidarity in the Past, Reflections for Today,” marking the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The exhibition, with free admission, focuses on personal stories of ingenuity, solidarity, and resistance against far-right regimes in Romania and Europe around the time of World War II.
“Solidarity in the Past, Reflections for Today” presents the personal journeys of individuals who faced discrimination, violence, and isolation and chose to resist—whether to help their families, friends, or acquaintances, or simply to survive. Their stories reveal the tactics, strategies, and personal motivations that drove acts of opposition, as well as the consequences of these decisions.
The exhibition will feature documents from the Muzeon archive, including a satirical newspaper (Tábori Híradó) created by Jewish inmates in a forced labor camp, as well as letters and photographs of the individuals whose stories are being showcased.
The SolRem project, funded by the European Commission, focuses on researching collective memory, particularly on marginalized topics and their manipulation in far-right discourses. It collaborates with partners from five countries for research and dissemination, aiming to inform the public and analyze the exploitation of these themes.
